Today is full of great things.
Many significant dates wrapped up in one.
It’s officially Spring! The shift of season is rich with newness, inspiration, and the feeling of life propelling forwards.
It’s World Storytelling Day - An event dedicated to the sharing of spoken stories around the globe.
It’s release day of the song, “Like a Tree,” that recent guest April Bell and I wrote in collaboration with the spirits of family members who have passed on.
In lieu of all that, I shared a few stories on the podcast today about moments that take our breath away, how family members from the other side may still participate in our lives, and even the role of luck.
Lots of fun inspiration for songs and creative pursuits of your own, and you can listen to that here:
World Storytelling Day is new to me, and I love the idea. Upon reading a little deeper, I found out there are chosen themes ever year, and that apparently this years theme is “Deep Water.”
Had I known that, maybe this would have been a different podcast!
I guess that’s the fun of walking down paths we’ve never gone before. You find cool new things along the way.
In any regard, I recommend taking this as an opportunity to write to the prompt of Deep Water, or Spring, or whatever is jumping out at you most here.
Better yet, in honour of World Storytelling Day, why not phone someone up, or meet with a friend or family member, or someone new altogether, and swap a story.
I love how the emphasis of this day is placed on the exchange of verbal stories, so with that, I say go for it!!
If you do it, let me know how it goes.
Who knows?
Maybe the experience will turn into a song you love ❤️.
Every day is a good day to tell a story 🙌
Didn't know the theme was "Deep Water". Love it my story telling buddy!!
